Understanding Computer Networks in Various Lines of Life

In this digital era, you can take advantage of computer networks for various conveniences of life. In general, computer networks will make various activities easier and more concise.

Understanding Computer Networks in Various Lines of Life

Especially in various lines of life, computers are always used to support their activities. Computer products also not only consist of PCs and laptops but also penetrate the world of communication, automotive, and industry. Technology in various aspects of life is also developing because of increasingly sophisticated computer networks.

Computer networks are also growing rapidly and not only can connect one PC to another in one network. However, all objects have operations that use each other's computers.

For example, in a car it can be connected to a smart phone. So, what are the advantages of a complete computer network? Let's talk further!

Computer Networks Overview

A computer network is a system consisting of more than one computer connected to one another via a transmission medium (communication media). So that one computer with another computer can share applications, data, and various computer hardware.

Computer network can also be interpreted as a network system with a transmission medium that allows multiple computers to be connected to one another. Computer networks are built with the aim that the information carried by the sender can be received accurately and precisely. Computer networks allow everyone to communicate with each other more easily.

Computer networks are also useful in integrating client computer data so that more relevant data can be obtained. Computer network development is a combination of software and hardware. In addition, it can also be made with a combination of wireless and wired technology.

Types of Computer Networks

Actually, all computer networks are useful as a client or server. However, there are also networks that have computers that are only dedicated to servers and others as clients. In addition, there are also networks that do not have a dedicated computer for the server.

Well, based on its function there are two types of computer networks which include:

1. Client Server

Client server is a computer network that is only used as a server. Where there are services and services that can be provided by one or more computers.

Various web server computers. In it there are lots of services provided on one computer. It is a computer that has multi-service, namely a mail server, file server, web server, database server, and so on.

 2. Peer to Peer

Peer to Peer is a computer network where each host can be a server and at the same time can be a client. As in file sharing between computers in a Windows Network Neighborhood, there are 5 computers A, B, C, D, and E that give access rights to the files they own.

When A wants to access a file from B named data_nilai.xls and gives access to the question_pts.doc file in C. When accessing files from B, A becomes the client, while when A needs access to C, A becomes the server. Both of these functions are performed simultaneously by computer A. Well, a network like this is known as peer to peer.

Benefits of Computer Networks

Computer networks were first discovered in 1940 and then developed until the 1950s and have contributed greatly to human life and have undergone various phases of development. The development of computer networks has a positive and negative impact on human life.
